About Sarah

Hi! Welcome to Peaceful Adventures, my private practice. I am so happy you are here and would be honored to walk with you in your journey of healing, self-discovery, and finding peace. My main area of focus is supporting Autistic, ADHD, and otherwise neurodivergent children and adolescents by addressing co-occurring mental health concerns, fostering a positive sense of identity, and helping parents navigate supporting their unique challenges. I am a neurodiversity-affirming therapist, meaning that I view my clients from a non-pathologizing, strengths-based lens. I often combine play therapy with other modalities to give my clients the space to work through their problems in play while also building skills that build confidence, self-regulation, self-advocacy, and other skills depending on the individual client’s specific needs.

In addition to therapy, I offer consultations for parents, teachers, childcare providers, and other professionals who work with or advocate for children to help problem-solve specific concerns.

Groups, professional development training, and seminars are available upon request and will be announced as they are scheduled. Contact me today at sarah@peacefuladventuresllc.com to begin your own Peaceful Adventures.

Native to South Carolina, my family and I have settled into the beautiful Upstate area. When I am not in the office, I enjoy exploring the great outdoors and spending time with family. I love hiking, canoeing, and discovering new adventures. Currently, I am working on growing a green thumb in my garden.

Here is a little about my background. I attended University of South Carolina Aiken, where I earned a Bachelor of Art in Psychology followed by a Master of Science in Applied Clinical Psychology. I have worked in neuropsychology, Juvenile Justice, school systems, and clinic settings. I have had the opportunity to serve a diverse set of clients with a range of mental health problems, neurodivergent clients, trauma, and attachment issues.

After serving such a diverse range of clients, I honed in on my passion for speaking up for marginalized groups and empowering neurodivergent clients to thrive in this neurotypical world. I am also passionate about parenting and have found that Autistic/otherwise neurodivergent kids respond best to a peaceful parenting approach, which offers a flexible framework of working to connect with the child, understand their unique needs, and work together to solve problems while also holding high standards and expectations.
