Autism Spectrum Disorder

If you or someone in your family has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or is in other ways neurodivergent, the world can feel a bit confusing and perhaps isolating. Receiving the news that your child is Autistic can bring a flood of emotions. Where do you go from here? What will your child’s future look like? You may have been given an extensive list of recommended services and encouraged to start immediately. Do you jump in with all of the services, let them be, or find some sort of balance? We haven’t even started talking about school.

Let’s pause and take a deep breathe. You have a wonderful, unique child. You and your child probably need some extra support along the way to figure out how to thrive in this neurotypical world. You also probably need to hear that it is okay, and even beautiful, to be neurodivergent and the world is full of Autistic people who do incredible things in life.
